~ Otherworld ~

The hand of God works miracles from malice, creates life out of death, and fashions order from chaos. Such is the mystery of grace. This is the prevailing theme of the novel Otherworld, a supernatural thriller about a group of Texans caught up in a bizarre series of events they do not realize are interrelated until the worst kind of danger is imminent.

Otherworld tells the story of a neurotic writer estranged from his wife, a disillusioned minister, and a gruff (but devout) police captain negotiating their ways through ordinary lives until providence unites them. They encounter suspicious tales of UFO sightings, grisly crimes committed by a delusional teenager, a charismatic professor who claims to speak with inter-dimensional travelers, and the dark spiritual oppression responsible for them all. With the aid of a fearless old man possessing a powerful gift, the protagonists must face the deepest evil imaginable, trusting all the while that redemption lay on the other side of darkness.

Otherworld would make an excellent addition to the frontlist of any publisher of contemporary Christian fiction. Ostensibly a supernatural thriller, Otherworld is nevertheless a unique work, a character-driven story with texture and nuance. The prose is lean and nimble in style, but the narrative possesses a subtle literary weight uncommon in contemporary genre fiction.
